Ask HE: Should HackfulThon be sponsored by business or funded by the community?
We have the opportunity to host a Hackathon for Hackful Europe. We have a venue lined up for London at the new Google Campus provided by @centralworking
The venue would need to be staffed for the weekend at a cost of around £500. Food and other sundries for a weekend for up to 100 hackers could add another £2500 to the budget.
Should we seek sponsorship from companies or should we crowd fund from the Hackful community to cover the costs?
I think you should find local sponsors (better if a few small and not just one big), I think this way you will create a better start up community in Europe
I think it needs to be clear as well that this will not be the last event and they will happen all across Europe so everyone can ultimately go to one.
