ASK HE: What is the most popular euro startup blog?

Hello, everybody.

Every startup community needs their media, right? And TechCrunch is the valley's media. They have a european edition and I was wondering if a lot of people read it, because I don't.

What is the most popular blog covering european startups? TheNextWeb, maybe? Which one is your favourite?

EDIT: btw, HE is a really cool idea, I will try to contribute with a design suggestion later. Greetings from Bulgaria:)

Not covering whole Europe but ArcticStartup is great.

Thanks Kiro, I'm actually one of the founders of the site. We're focused on Nordics and Baltics exclusively for exactly the reason that there is already happening quite a lot there and it's really hard to cover properly something the size of Europe (just yet) :)

Looking forwards to HE building traction!

For me this is exactly the reason I welcome HE. There is no single blog that does a great job of covering the EU scene. Some are better, some are worse, but it's a very difficult challenge with so much happening across so many markets and so many languages and cultures. The only option is a crowd sourced service like HE that surfaces the relevant news.

Well put - maybe this will stimulate a few hyper-local blogs and guide the Europe-wide ones to more news

I cannot say who is the most popular, but I do know of www.goaleurope.com. It covers Eastern European startups a lot. Their editor contributes to eu.techcrunch.com

greetings from Croatia :-)

Thanks a lot Luckyisgood! Yes, Croatia has a busy startup scene, with Crane, Netokracija, and all the fabulous teams there - Farmeron, Mediatoolkit, Spotie, WhoAPI, Webiny, BusinessExchange...

I am spending all my spare and working hours covering CEE and Russia. Contributing to TechCrunch is also a good way to make a greater impact.

This is a good one I feel http://www.eu-startups.com/ (I do write the occasional piece there myself, so I am biased!). The best thing is it avoids merely concentrating on London and Berlin - it covers startups all over Europe. And yes, I agree that EU Techcrunch can be very good - it stumbled a bit last summer but getting strong again.

I find The Kernel fantastic reading http://kernelmag.com

But even they are seduced by Facebook

There is no such blog covering the whole of Europe (or even just the EU) AFAIK. These guys would like to create one though: https://plus.google.com/118292867302583509179/posts
