Hackful Europe was a small dream from a few people in the London hacking scene and startup community. After a few false starts Elias Haase has managed to get us up and running with over 700 users in 4 days.
Rayhan has done a great job in advertising the site, spreading the initial word and populating all of our first content.
Thank you to Incite ICT for proving the VPS hosting that we've been running on (largely without fault - except datacentre downtime last night)
Thank you to everybody (yes you) who signed up over the past couple of days. Please spread the word to your co-founders, friends, developers and hackers. If you use twitter please spread the word, follow @hackful and please copy in @8bitpal, @rayhanrafiq & @mattslight.
Lets make sure we keep moving forward with Hackful Europe and show the US that it's not just Silicon Valley and NYC that can compete on the global stage.
Here's to more of the same.
M

Thanks to you guys.
Congrats guys, great to see this thing coming to life.
Only one comment - I'm here not to "compete on the global stage" but to make awesome things. It's not a competition. Let's just do our own cool stuff. If others also do cool things the world's a better place for it.
I got excited!
Just waiting for XCombinator!
I will share this site with about 300 people in our FB community. I think you've done a great job. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the site, and I really hope this succeeds. I'm also hoping that Europe itself becomes more united in markets and cultures etc. Now it feels like everyone is just dicking around in their own countries.
thankyou all. I sincerely hope the site attracts even more users (although 700 is plenty for a decent community I imagine).
thank you guys! i'm glad to be able to participate.
Good job guys. Needed something UK/Europe centric. Need to realise and accept things over here are well different. Stock options differ, investors differ, the very definition of Seed differs as well as sales cycles, and customers in B2C themselves. We have less early adopters hence we need to target the late adopters faster, and we have no echo chamber....Good job
Iqbal
+1 from snowy Birmingham. Good to see this.
Thank you!
And congrats Elias, Matthew and Rayhan for getting this off the ground. Much needed effort.
This is why we need user profiles =)
And of course thanks to Matthew (@mattslight), who has done a great job with getting everything up and running, advertising and posting content as well as processing feedback and tweaking things. Thanks!
Thank you to ALL who are making this and posting here, Hackful Europe is great and it was definitely something we needed here. The Start-up scene is really taking off, especially London, and it's great to see people getting on-board.
Keep up the hard work and everyone else, spread the word!
This is a great idea, thanks for setting up the site. I'm looking forward to seeing what emerges.
There certainly seems to be plenty of exciting startup stuff going on in London and other major European cities these days but it often feels like we lack some of the sense of community that the US has. A dedicated news site like this is a really positive step forwards.
Maybe some filter that prevents old stories to be in the front page or at least gives precedence to new stories in some way?
I really hope that this gets some traction - thank you for your efforts!
Congrats on the site. Will search functionality be added to the site? Are you affiliated at all with hacker news?
Thanks, a local tech news site is much needed. Long may it last.
