Ask HE: Trans-European ePayment solution?
Is there a true trans-European ePayment solution that likes developers? The obvious problem is the fragmented banking landscape here. Is there any company doing this well or any startup working on this?
What are your experiences with existing solutions in terms of ease of implementation?

My experiences are that it is a damn hurdle and if I from Sweden want to send/pay money to someone in Spain then we have to go through a US company and be subject to all those laws, such as not being able to send money to wikileaks because visa and mastercard says no.
Exclusive to UK right now (I think that will change and I could be wrong) is http://gocardless.com/ they seem to be on the right path. I am not sure if will crunch credit cards or if they are just bank accounts.
Web2Pay https://www.webtopay.com/ is a company providing payment services for Lithuanian market. Not sure about international payments, maybe it's worth keeping an eye on them.
