Can the internet influence the EU political agenda? I learned about this very late, but maybe with the speed of the internet we can still amplify this appeal to EU solidarity... and sanity!
Is your city missing from the map? Create a little event yourself, you just need at least three people, a camera and a color printer!

but surely not with http://www.fsf.org/facebook -- there is too much conflicting interest between the EU and the ruling elite behind FB.

The Greek story is a funny one. Here is the film about life under the Colonels. It is called Greece - The Seven Black Years. It was made in 1974 - and broadcast in early 1975.
Its commentary is very much of its time - but the film has a power both in the details and in the way it is made. It shows that along with the terrible torture, the Colonels exercised control through financial means - or what one villager calls "the big money".

I didn't any technical choice - I just supported the initiative ;) And unfortunately, facebook is the only platform where there are most of the people...

By the way, no single grassroots initiative can get direct results imho, but the sum of a lot of signals could do something. The problem is that first we would need to create enough support among the people...
